In Fall 2009, with the industry outlook and national economic climate, the decision was made to close the General Contracting, Asphalt, and Concrete Construction Divisions of the Company, with the thought that it may be a temporary closure. 2011 thru 2015 continues to support the decision to close the Divisions.
The Work Zone Traffic Control Division provides education for both the motorist and the construction worker through its knowledge and sensitivity to safe roads and road construction projects. This division encompasses material sales and equipment rentals. Safety materials and equipment are sold or rented to road and bridge contractors for their jobsite construction crews. We also have Maryland Certified traffic managers. The Work Zone Traffic Control Division provides these services to the many road contractors.
The Pavement Marking Division began in 1987 in the temporary work zone division, when roadway safety materials were beginning to be required on road project bids. Before the safety materials became mandatory, only a very progressive contractor would spend money on worker and motorist safety. In 1987 the temporary and permanent tape market made the pavement marking division extremely profitable, until the State began to look for less costly products. To compete effectively for Maryland pavement markings, in 1995, the company purchased its first thermoplastic truck, followed by the purchase of its first paint truck. In 1997, the company purchased the equipment to install plowable raised pavement markers. The Pavement Marking Division fully services the Maryland market, from the Eastern Shore to Western Maryland to Southern Maryland, and the metropolitan areas in between, through design, layout, supply, installation, and/or removal of a variety of pavement marking products.
Priceless Industries, Inc. is also a certified Maryland MBE/DBE.
